Aircraft 42-38064 (Arf and Arf) and 44-8418 (Bad Times Inc. II) were involved in a collision on Nov 8th, 1944 while on a mission to Merseberg. Lt James Elduff was the pilot of 44-8418. 42-38064 crashed into the channel with all crew lost. Lt Edluff managed to bring 44-8418 back to England and landed at AAF Station 123 (Horsham St. Faith) on their belly. The tail gunner was injured and the plane was so badly damaged that it was salvaged. The title under the photo says "1 GAD55-1 458Y 9-11-44 V s/n #48418 - Type B-17".
